ORGANIZATION

The core team of the organization consists of voluntary staff, most of whom studied or still study Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna. In addition, the members of ETHNOCINECA bring varied expertise, vocational skills and experiences to the organization. ETHNOCINECA is basically constructed as an open platform. From here, there are continuously calls for internships, in order to enable those interested in film and culture to gain experience through a practice-oriented learning platform.

Michael Draca

Born 1978 in Vienna. Studied Cultural and Social Anthropology since 2007 with a focus on Media Anthropology, Visual Anthropology, as well as Peace & Conflict and Migration Studies. Occasionally active in film post-production. A member of the ETHNOCINECA team since 2007. Present core responsibilities are project leadership, programing and technical support. Position within organisation: cashier.

Bernhard Eder

Bernhard Eder studies Cultural and Social Anthropology and has been a part of the ETHNOCINECA team since 2007. Since then he's been involved both in the overall organization, marketing, sponsorship and is active with organizing the Ethnofest. In addition, he is the spokesman of ETHNOCINECA. Bernhard Eder deals primarily with advertising for distributing promotional materials to target groups.

Sandra Feichtner

Sandra Feichtner studied Cultural and Social Anthropology as well as International Development with an emphasis on migration, ethnicity, international development and Childhood & Youth Anthropology. Since 2007 she's been with the ETHNOCINECA team and has been active with the overall organization as well as other various work areas. She's been primarily working with development cooperation since 2008.

Marie-Christine Hartig

Marie-Christine Hartig studied Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna with emphases on Visual Anthropology and Latin American Studies. She's been working for an NGO in the education sector since 2006. Since 2009 she's been a member of the ETHNOCINECA team and is mainly responsible for the ETHNOCINECA workshop and sponsorship.

Nadja Haumberger

Nadja Haumberger has been studying Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna since 2006 with a focus on Museum Anthropology and an emphasis on art in Anthropology. Since 2009 she's been a member of the ETHNOCINECA team, primarily responsible for communications (email management, filmmakers).

Kristen Kaefer

Kristen Kaefer has been studying Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna since September 2011. Her research interests are related to migration, identification processes and visual methods in ethnographic fieldwork. She has been assisting the ETHNOCINECA team since October 2011 in with editing English texts and translations.

Martin Lintner

Martin Lintner has been studying Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna since 2003, with a focus on Visual Anthropology and Anthropological Filmmaking. Since 2009 he's been a student assistant in the institute's editing room and supervises camera and editing for student film projects. He's been working as a freelance cameraman and editor for diverse clients and organizations since 2008. Since 2010 he's been a member of the ETHNOCINECA team and is in charge of all technical areas and research. He is also the vice-chairman of the organization.

Thomas Lottermoser

Thomas Lottermoser has supported the ETHNOCINECA team since 2011. His tasks comprise of systematic recording and archiving of the current submissions as well as caring for the existing archives. He's been studying Cultural and Social Anthropology since 2005 with an emphasis on Visual Anthropology and Cultural Studies.

Lea Myria Marinell

Lea Myria Marinell has been studying Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna since 2008. Her focus lies in Visual Anthropology and photography. Since October 2011 she has been a part of ETHNOCINECA and is partly responsible for graphics and the homepage.

Elena Staroste

Elena Staroste has been a member of ETHNOCINECA since 2009 and is in charge of cultural cooperation, the ETHNOCINECA workshop and the film club. From 2003-2006 she studied Cultural and Social Anthropology, Peace and Conflict Studies and Political Science at Philipps Univeristy in Marburg. In 2007 she set her focus on Visual Anthropology, photography and Medical Ethnology at the University of Vienna. Since 2008 she has worked as a freelance contractor for the daily newspaper derStandard in cultural cooperation and event marketing.

Mario Strk

Mario Strk studierte Kultur- uns Sozialanthropologie an der Universität Wien mit den Schwerpunkten Visuelle Anthropologie, Stadt- und Raumanthropologie und Szeneforschung, als auch Bildende Kunst, Bildhauerei an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien. Er ist seit 2007 im Organisationsteam der ETHNOCINECA und war seither in der Gesamtorganisation und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit tätig.

Simone Traunmüller

Simone Traunmüller has studied Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna since 2006 with an emphasis on Visual Anthropology and Cultural Studies. Since 2009 she's been a member of the ETHNOCINECA team and works for the ETHNOCINECA Organization as the representative chairwoman and is primarily responsible for public relations.

Katharina Wagner

Katharina Wagner has been supporting the ETHNOCINECA team in sponsorship since 2011. She's been studying Comparative Literature Studies and Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna since 2006, with a special interest in the Anthropology of Music and Media.

Sophie Wagner

Sophie Wagner has been a student at the Institute for Cultural and Social Anthropology in Vienna since 2005. Her interest in the film medium led her to study theater, film and media. Today her emphasis lies in Visual Anthropology, especially the understanding of documentary film as a port between science, artistic practice and transfer of knowledge. Since 2001 she's been busy with various projects as a filmmaker and has a geographic emphasis on Australia. She's been a member of ETHNOCINECA since 2011 and is primarily responsible for organizing the workshop.
