Biography

Simon Gillard was born in Kostenets, a small village nearby Sofia, Bulgaria. When he was young he was adopted by a couple of Breton. After five years of scientific studies (engineering physics) between Brittany and Paris, he finally cuts ties with his family and the Breton soil. In 2008, an epi- sode of Roman life push him to buy his first camera and to move to Brussels to attend a master in filmmaking (Insas). Over the last five years, in contact with the edgy Brussel's population, he seeks his way and inspiration in sparsely documented rural areas.
