Ten years after my last visit, I return to Cateri, Corsican village, the cradle of the Salvatori family. I want to confront my father, this man who is my exact opposite and exasperates me. I want to be reconciled with him. I propose a duel in the sun, in the form of a chjami è rispondi, a Corsican joust, the outcome of which is very uncertain.


Born the 21/09/1982, Axel Salvatori-Sinz grew up in the suburbs of Lyon, France. After completing an anthropology curriculum, specializing in Arabic & Muslim societies, he obtained a Master 2 degree in directing documentary films. He directed several commissioned films for the French Embassy, while staying in Salvador. The Shebabs of Yarmouk, his first feature-length documentary, was selected in more than 120 internationals festivals and has won a dozen of prices. Within the frame of the 2012 FEMIS Documentary Workshop, he has written the script for his last film that takes place in a Corsican village : Chjami è rispondi. He's also working on an other project related to his first film "The Shebabs of Yarmouk". Axel Salvatori-Sinz died suddenly in early January 2018.
