After a successful boxing career, Rahim wanted to absorb himself into the new role of a loving family man,but his wife Halimeh seems to be infertile, at least the couple has been childless for 14 years. The absenceof children in their lives puts a heavy strain on the relationship, and their debts keep growing. Under pressure from creditors, Rahim commits a series of crimes, friends and relatives turn away from him, and Halimeh files for divorce. After losing faith in god and hitting rock bottom, Rahim chooses to put the boxing gloves back on and win back his beloved Halimeh.
THE EXCELLENCY accompanies Rahim in his struggle for survival – a stranded existence in the corset of an Iranian society guided by strict moral codes.

Iranian filmmaker, photographer, film producer, and researcher. Master of Fine Art in film directing from the Department of Film and Theatre of Bushehr University. Most of his films have been shown at respected festivals both at home and abroad. He made five documentaries that “Joker” won the best documentary film from the 35th edition of Tehran International Short Film Festival. The Excellency is his first Feature-length documentary nominated for Best Director from the 13th edition of the Iranian International Documentary Film Festival. It has short-listed for Fajr Film Festival 2020.
