Eleanor is 92 years old and enjoys life to the fullest. She has a colorful wardrobe, keeps herself busy with work, loves to dance and entertains a love affair with a young waiter from her favorite diner. Eleanor came to New York from Germany and built a career as an interior designer. She became known for transforming old warehouses into magnificent event venues. When Eleanor decides to undergo cosmetic surgery, the wrinkles around her eyes disappear, but emotional scars reappear, and she lets us feel her loneliness.
A LIFE IN COLOR shows how one can embrace the imperfection of one’s existence. Axel Stasny finds a sensitive visual language and narrative closeness that makes Eleanor tangible in all her facets and emotions.

BIOGRAPHY
Axel Stasny was born in Vienna and studied Theater, Film, and Media Studies at the University of Vienna. In 2009, he graduated from the New York Film Academy under the mentorship of Vojtech Jasny. As a director and cinematographer, his work has been featured on the Academy Award shortlist and Netflix, and has been showcased at festivals such as the Busan Film Festival, DOC NYC, LA Pacific Filmfest, Montreal Film Festival, Raindance Film Festival, and the Toronto International Film Festival.
