Since the 80’s, HIV became a stigma within the LGBTQ+ community. In a digital era, four Brazilians have created Youtube Channels to talk openly about their HIV status, in a very positive way. They are digital activists trying to spread a new message about how it is to live with the virus, showing HIV is no longer a death sentence. Sharing their daily lives they have created an online community where people feel safe to interact, learn, share their knowledge, worries, and doubts about the subject matter that is still a taboo. Positive Youtubers – A Machinima Documentary, is a student film all made with footage material recorded from the computer desktop screen as a final semester project of Digital Anthropology discipline within the Master of Arts in Media and Visual Anthropology at Freie Universität Berlin.
