A conversation between filmmakers about lives, experiences and films that speak to other lives, experiences, and films. The six films in conversation deal with different angles and aspects of the broader history of imperialism and postcolonialism. They grapple with the past and the present, and dream about the future too. They interrogate notions of belonging, freedom, independence, responsibility and accountability.
Overlapping narratives and stories that begin where others end allow us to piece together different aspects of reality and, if we are open to it, catch sight of something new and unknown. In this filmmaker conversation, moderated by this year’s guest curator Katarina Hedrén, we are aiming to do just that.
