Biggi and Alfred used to be a couple, but life is tough without a job and so both ended up living together on their small farm in Saxony-Anhalt (East Germany). Biggis Daughters Denise (17) and Saskia (14) try to find their own path, in spite of all problems at school and in their family. While the adults can only dream of renovating their run-down farm and rebuild it into a wild west village or stud for breeding horses. Without any one in sight to help them with their money issues.
Family Life shows the vulnerability and brokenness of a family at the edge of society, without being too voyeuristic or intrusive.
