The area alongside of the Ave in the North of Portugal has a more than a hundred year old history of fast growing industrial development, including its dramatic downfall. The trip downstream seems like a time travel, where the filmmakers take us to industrial ruins, that are testimonials of the faded boom and warning memorials to the fugacity of human achievements. But the destiny of the industrial area is not the one of its inhabitants, who already have filled the ruins with new life.
