VIELLEICHT EXISTIERT ARMENIEN NUR IN MEINER VORSTELLUNG

Karin Hammer | Austria, Armenia 2011 | 48 Min. | OmeU

It is the past that determines the future of Armenia, says a woman right at the beginning of the film. Much of what is said later in the film proves her right. In 2010 Karin Hammer spent several months in Armenia. She traveled the country and talked to the people. The Super 8 camera was her constant companion. Always present but never intrusive, Karin Hammer captured fragments of Armenian daily life on film. In interviews Armenians express themselves about politics and commonplaces: about the war, the Soviet era, the Mountain Ararat and the traditional role allocation. (David Krems)
