AU CIMETIÈRE DE LA PELLICULE folgt Diallos Suche nach „Mouramani“, einem Film von Mamadou Touré aus dem Jahr 1953, der als der erste Film eines frankophonen afrikanischen Regisseurs gilt. Auf seiner Reise durch Guineas verlassene Kinos und verfallende Filmarchive entdeckt Diallo das reiche Filmerbe des Landes und konfrontiert die Herausforderungen, die die Bewahrung des kulturellen Gedächtnisses angesichts von Vernachlässigung und politischen Umbrüchen mit sich bringt.
Diallos Reise veranschaulicht die Bedeutung von Filmarchiven und die anhaltenden Auswirkungen des Kolonialismus auf das afrikanische Kino. AU CIMETIÈRE DE LA PELLICULE ist sowohl eine persönliche Pilgerreise als auch eine ergreifende Erkundung der Filmgeschichte Guineas.

BIOGRAPHY
Thierno Souleymane Diallo was born in Guinea. He has studied at the ISAG (Art University og Guinea) in Dubréka. In 2012 he goes in Niger to study a master specialized in creative documentary, and then a degree of documentary cinema in Senegal. He makes several short movies during his studies. In 2015, Souleymane had realized his first documentary “Un homme pour ma famille” and in 2018, «Nô Mëtî Sîfâdhe». He also works for a Guinean television. “The cemetery of cinema” is his first feature documentary.
