Claudio Schreiber, the king of the side paths, may have grown old, but remained young at heart. Filmmaker Jakob Fischer struggles to cast the narratives of the 80-year-old into a framework, as Claudio’s restless spirit, always addicted to the sea, wants to keep moving.
Dissolving the linearity of time and through spatial jumps, and informed by Fischer’s thoughts and reflections, a portrait of a man emerges that is marked by the deep and decades-long friendship with the filmmaker. A life is more than the sum of its chronological experiences, and, sometimes, the most exciting episodes are found off the beaten path.

BIOGRAPHY
Jakob Fischer, geboren 1993, hat 2018 sein Regiestudium an der Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF (DE) abgeschlossen. Seitdem hat er einige Kurzfilme realisiert und ist regelmäßig für den Abschlussfilm des vierten Jahrgangs Schauspiel der MUK Wien verantwortlich. Zusätzlich arbeitet er als Kinderschauspielcoach.
