Mitten in der kolumbianischen Guajira-Wüste exhumiert die junge Wayuu-Frau Doris die sterblichen Überreste ihrer Cousine, um ihr ein letztes Mal begegnen zu können. Die in dieser Tradition wurzelnde Sinnesreise bringt Doris dazu, sich dem Tod zu stellen und die Welt der Träume mit der Welt der Lebenden verschmelzen zu lassen.

 Die Filmemacher begleiten indigene Frauen in ihrer Auseinandersetzung mit Kosmologie und Tod und unterwerfen sich in ihrer filmischen Gestaltung ganz dieser Weltsicht. In hypnotischer Sensorik regt LAPÜ dazu an, westliche Konzepte von Verlust und Zeit sowie den eigenen Umgang mit dem Tod zu überdenken.

Biographies
Juan Pablo Polanco was born in Bogotá, Colombia. He studied fine arts at the Pontifical Xavierian University in Bogotá and filmmaking at ECAM in Madrid. He is co-founder of the Colombian production company Los Niños Films, with which he made his short film Portete and his first feature film, Lapü.

César Alejandro Jaimes studied photography and filmmaking in his hometown of Bogotá, Colombia. He is co-founder of the production company Los Niños Films. Death and dreamlike experiences are his main object of study and inspired him to write his debut feature film Lapü.
